 "The Verdict Has Been Reversed"

Greeting again my fellow Pastors, Leaders and Saints. It's that time again where we can share heart to heart. I remain both humbled and truly honored to share yet another word of hope and encouragement with you.  Let's consider the text found in II Kings 20:1-6. It's here we find Hezekiah sick and near death. Yes Hezekiah, the man of great faith and prayer. It's noted that over a hundred - year period of Judah's history, Hezekiah was the only faithful king. But please note he wasn't innocent, he was just holy. No doubt, he had a close personal relationship with God, but he was sick and at the point of death. The Prophet Isaiah has come to him by way of the Lord, and has handed him a verdict of death. He states, "Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live". Here is Hezekaah at only thirty - nine years old told death awaits you at any moment. His present situation seems so final. His life has gone from bad (being sick) to worst (death) in a matter of moments.

There may be someone reading this right now going through something and it looks as if all hope is gone. Your outcome looks bad. The enemy has told you, there is no possible way you'll get through this one. That's it, it's over now. Well I encourage you to do as Hezekiah did, "turn your face toward the wall and pray to the Lord". Hezekiah looked at Isaiah and said, we are very good friends, but you can't help me now. This battle I face is reserved for the Lord and it can only be won on my knees. The bible say's he turned toward the wall, tuning out every person, place and thing to give full attention to the only one who could reverse the verdict.

If Hezekiah didn't know anything else, he knew God was faithful to his Word. It is noted in the text, Hezekiah prayed out of his spirit and never ask God to heal him. But he reminded God of His Word and held Him to His promise. Please note, "set your house in order" (20:10 literally means, pick out a man to succeed you to the throne". God had promised Judah would always have a descendant of David on the throne. Hezekiah had no sons prior to receiving his death verdict. The text states, before the Prophet Isaiah could make it out of the middle court, God sent him another word to give to Hezekiah. Please don't look over the fact that God gave the word to Isaiah to give to Hezekiah because He never breaks rank (just a gold nugget to add) . God told Isaiah to tell Hezekiah "The Verdict Has Been Reversed". "Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord" 20:5. The Lord witnessed the brokenness of Hezekiah's heart, spirit and soul. Three days later, Hezekiah received his peronal resurrection. I wonder what he did while he was waiting on God to manifest His Word in his life. Well I believe although things had not changed as of yet, he praised God in advance based on a previous experience.

This is not the first time God ever moved in Hezekiah's life. He had a present confidence in God because of a pass experience with God. God added fifteen years to his life as well as delivered him and the city from the hand of the enemy. Later, Hezekiah had sons in the closing (15) years of his life. Hezekiah had a son named Manasseh, and yes he was a godless king. Manasseh had a son named Amon, yes another godless king. Amon had a son named Josiah, a man who sought after God. Josiah was the great grand-son of Hezekiah. Had Hezekiah died, there would have been no Josiah. Praise God, "The Verdict Has Been Reversed" .

I don't know what your struggle is today, but God can "Reverse The Verdict". It's time to turn away from man and face God one on one. The Lord say's your present situation is reserved for Him only. This battle you are going through can only be won on your knees.

"My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips", Psalms 89:34.

"...Yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it", Isaiah 46:11.

Until we meet again, stay true to the call and always remember, we love you, but God loves you even more!!!

Daily Verse

A daily word of exultation.
  • Matthew 5:43-45
“[Love for Enemies] “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
